Are the Filemaker Templates able to be run in 5.0? It mentions on the site that at least FM5 is needed, but other areas it mentions that the templates are for 5.5. Is it just a way to get us to upgrade? Or can the templates work with 5.0?

Sure do, and it's completely incorrect. FMP 5 will open files created in FMP 5.5. Of course any FMP 5.5 new features will not be available then. The FM Server 5 and 5.5 versions can also host files created in either FMP 5 or FMP 5.5

It's a gimic...

They;ll work with 5.0, but there a afew features that won't.

The files run a start up script that looks for 5.5 and then gives you that message it you're on 5.0.

The work around - download a trial verison of 5.5 so that you can at least uncompress the files and won't get the message about needing 5.5. Once you've been able to open them with your eval copy of 5.5, you can then open them with 5.0 by right clicking and choose "Open with..." and then choose "always use this application".

there may be a few features (read bout the differences between 5.0 and 5.5) that you wont' be able to use, but at tleast the files will be useable. Most of the downloaded files I've done, the feature that most commonly is used but not supported is the individual record locking
