Newbies Matt Coyne Posted October 9, 2000 Newbies Posted October 9, 2000 Hi My first post and hopefully a fulfilling one... Has anybody gone down the route of accessing a FileMaker Database from Macromedia's Flash? If so, could you please advise as to the best methods and/or Platforms to deliver from. Any pointers to articles, tutorials, reference material would be greatly appreciated. TIA Matt
darrenN Posted October 9, 2000 Posted October 9, 2000 Hello, no I haven't but another possible area you could look at for help is the Macromedia forum, which you can set up in your e-mail news account in OutLook Express. Simply create a knew news account and paste in; forums.macromedia.com in the news server slot. Then you will have access to over 35 Macromedia news groups and possibly more help. quote: Originally posted by Matt Coyne: Hi My first post and hopefully a fulfilling one... TIA Matt This can ONLY be done via a CGI like Blueworld Lasso found at http://www.blueworld.com Here is a URL containing a simple template that connects FileMaker to Flash. http://www.blueworld.com/blueworld/articles/ Also if you are going to have more than 2 people connecting to the Flash at ANY given time you will need to update software on your server to a Macromedia software call Generator. http://www.macromedia.com Hope this helps you and others. =) Travis ------------------ A.
