Hi all.

i am just looking in to replacing zippscript with the native triggers in FM11.

i am just wondering if there is a way to fire the triggers on field validation. not at layout level.

i have 15 or so fields that use zippscript to that run scripts on update, via validation.

at the moment these fields are on over 700 layouts. to relpace zipp script, from what i can see i would need to go to each layout and add the trigger to the field on exit trigger. is this correct.

many thanks in advance.

700 layouts suggests to me you have a basic design problem with your solution, but I may be wrong, if it still works I'd stick with what you have now, and take a hard look at why you need 700 layouts.

shameless bump, but still no answer.

i am beginning to guess my fears are correct.

No it is not a shameless bump. You did exactly what you were suppose to do. When no response is received within a 24 hours, allowing for holidays and weekends, bump your post.

You're going through the same nightmare that I am. Zippscript uses calculated fields in each table that are validated any time a change is made to the associated fields located within that calculated field.

Using a DDR and looking at where each field located on layouts is the only way to remove it. I'm lucky enough to be doing this on a database where the previous developer made comments on each zippscript trigger field; it makes it 1,000 times easier to locate and remove the scripts as needed.

edit: err, crud, I totally misread your post. Good luck with that D:
