mfl Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Anyone else have issues with FMS11 being slower than FMS10? Our current situation is we have a DB with many "Programs", each program can contain many "Styles". It is possible to have 336 styles in a program, but that will never happen, we do have some with 48 styles. Each of these styles can have one or more pictures associated to them which are not stored in the DB but on another server. Only references are stored in the DB. This has not changed since going to FMS11. We are now getting some users complaining that its too slow to work anymore. Is there any fine tuning that needs or can be done to FMS11 or are we hooped? Regards Michael
Wim Decorte Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 On the contrary, we're finding that FMS11v2 is a lot faster than 10 ever was and a lot more robust. Have you updated to v2 of FMS11? Can you spot anything in the client stats? Do you have an overall performance baseline using the OS performance monitoring tools that you can compare against?
mfl Posted September 23, 2010 Author Posted September 23, 2010 Wim, Basically we're going of what the user has said. They've been using it for along time. Not sure if this is a good baseline, usually depends on their mood also. So far there's only been one complaint so we'll see what happens down the road. Should mention we're on Mac OS v10.6 Yes we have applied the patch. Thanks for the response. Michael L.
