Newbies Radames Ortega Posted November 30, 2011 Newbies Posted November 30, 2011 Hello guys, Ive never used FM bofore and have the following problem: A client of my company uses FM for a mail tracking app, there's only two users. One of the users can create and edit records but the other can't. I have included screenshots of the security configuration and other settings that might be useful. Please help Im totally lost.
Vaughan Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 This is FMP 6. It's security was awkward, to say the least. Upgrade to FMP latest version, the security model uses defined user accounts and privilege sets.
haensz Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Is this the only FM6 file that these two users access? One of the users could be inheriting unwanted permissions from a different file if it also has a group named "Administration" (with the same blank password). Vaughan's advice above is ideal, but not always practical. No sense in trashing your FM6 files if they're still chugging along without too many issues. I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit it, but I've got plenty of FM6 dinosaurs plugging along in my production environment still...
