Here's to our mysterious friend, comment, who is apparently always online and has never met a calculation that befuddles him. We all have learned so much from your razor sharp approach to the most complex design and calc challenges. I often say as I face a challenge, "what would comment do?" Many times I've asked directly, and you have always been there to help in a very gracious manner. Congratulations!

Oh, wow. I did not expect to be reading my obituaries today...

This is indeed my 20,000th post here, and I don't think I could find a better topic for it than to thank you all. I've learned from each and every one of you - and I expect to continue to do so in the future.

Your obituaries? Hardly. Recognition can be a difficult meal, I agree, but you are rightfully being honored for your phenomenal contribution to the people of this forum. It is too bad that folks here who help us can't have a donation bucket on their profile so folks like us can slide 'thank yous' their way easily using PayPal, for example. I read that somewhere recently. This forum has contribution bucket for main contributions and it is very important that we support this forum monetarily. But at times, an additional thank you for outstanding assistance would be nice also.

I suppose some might think it is tacky; heck, at 17 everything to me seems tacky so I would not know tacky if it smacked me in the face. But I know that, when the giving far exceeds the norm, a gift of appreciation is warranted and it is a natural response because it is right. Ignore everything I just said if it offends anyone.

But Comment please do not ignore this: I hope someday to think a fraction as clear as you do. And I am practicing writing and then deleting a third of what I say to increase readability. Anyway I sidetrack... yes I am selfishly thankful that you, and your 20,000 posts and files, are here to help me.

So next December 8th on Comment Day, how many posts will you have? I would expect you can calculate it and you would probably be, as LaRetta says, "Spot-on" with the number too. And I agree that you rock, at least at FileMaker, talking, writing, thinking, understanding, and humor. As for the rest of you, I could not say.

x2. no, x10,000. thank you for helping all of us. I try to picture what 20,000 posts might feel like but I cannot picture doing anything 20,000 times except...never mind. but 20,000 times you have helped. mind blowing. I second the idea of allowing thank you in form of payment just by clicking pay pal in a persons profile. My daughter sends and receives money through pay pal all the time.

I think comment must not have a real job, (one that limits online usage)! :lol:

It's easier to just stay logged in if you work for yourself. :laugh2:
