Is it possible to trigger a script when a user switches between tabs?

I realize that I can place a button on the tab and use it to trigger a script but I was wondering if there is a way to trigger a script without using a button overlay.

Have you watched any of the videos on hidden tabs?

Yes.

Look at the Contacts example file that comes with FileMaker 12. Go to the Contact Detail layout. Look at the script triggers associated with the Address tab.
