I am running FM server 5.5 on a dedicated G4 which is running OS10.1.2. I have several users connected using FM 5.0 with OS9.1 and I am using client 5.5 on my G4 400mhz laptop, which is running OS10.1.2

My unit is very slow compared to other users. Look-up fields take as long as 15 seconds to activate, but are instant on other units. Also, when switching between screens it takes 5-10 seconds for the screen to appear - begins with white screen with spinning disk.

Any suggestions?

Be sure you are running 5.5v2, not 5.5v1 on your laptop. Also, check the cache settings under Edit-->Preferences-->Application-->Memory. It defaults to 512KB; it should be at least 4096, preferably 8192. See if that helps.
