We need to provide our existing application to a user who uses FileMaker the French version.

What kind of difficulties should we anticipate? Does FileMaker "converts" everything (is it a one-time conversion)? or is it seemless?...

I am ordering the French version to see for myself but I was wondering if anyone out there had stories to share with going from the English version to another language...

It doesn't "convert" anything. The menus names and other static items are in French. But your field names and other similar developer defined items remain in English.

There is an excellent quadra-lingual FMP developer in Toronto if you need a localization job done. And it sounds as if you will need that.
