Newbies djdekker Posted April 21, 2002 Newbies Posted April 21, 2002 Hi, I have a simple FileMaker Pro 5.5 (Mac OS X) database containing sensitive personal data. Is it possible to save the database automatically in an encrypted format? Just setting a password is not enough, because then the data can still be read with any hex editor. The procedure that I'm following now is to save the database in an encrypted .dmg disk image; but there should certainly be easier alternative? Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks, -dd
Steven H. Blackwell Posted April 21, 2002 Posted April 21, 2002 There is no option to "save as encrypted" format. You're doing the correct thing to then use another tool to encrypt the file. Old Advance Man
Steven H. Blackwell Posted April 21, 2002 Posted April 21, 2002 You might want to look at either the Troi encryption plug-in or the Protolight encryption plug-in. Old Advance Man
