Newbies Hhanya108 Posted February 19, 2015 Newbies Posted February 19, 2015 Is there a way to merge two Filemaker databases (they have identical fields)? The problem is we have 2 people populating the database on two separate computers. The plan was to load Person A's work into Person B's database and visa versa without losing data but I'm not seeing a merge function nor anything on this topic on any forum or help center. Any suggestions?
pixi Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 It depends what you understand by "…to load Person A's work into Person B's database and visa versa". If you mean the development work/changes try FMDiff http://fmdiff.com/to see what has changed. If you mean the data entered there are various ways to compare both data sets and handle it during merge. Please be more specific what you want to accomplish.
Wim Decorte Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 it sounds you like you want to have an automatic two-way sync between those two people's data. That's not a native feature of any database, it's a business requirement of your operation. There are plenty of sync solutions available for FM... GoZync, MirrorSync, EasySync,... see if any of those do what you are after.
