Newbies Ginger Fenway Posted April 25, 2015 Newbies Posted April 25, 2015 (edited) Does everybody always use the base table name in the TO? Example, I have a base table called events and on some TO's I would use training in the title of the TO. Does anyone have any reason why I shouldn't?? I appreciate any response...thank you! Ocean West Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 not always - mostly depends on the context that I am working on and layouts. Nomenclature of the name should make sense to you. here is some food for thought http://filemakerstandards.org/display/cs/Table+occurrence+naming
Tom R. Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 I think it depends on your needs. All my solutions have a People table, but depending on what I am trying to embody on the graph in a particular relationship, I might name the TO Staff, Clients, Patients, Students, or whatever.
LaRetta Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 I always begin my TO names with its base table. In this way, they sort in the TO popovers together so they are easier to find. So it would be Contacts~staff or Invoices~overdue etc.
