July 26, 200223 yr Have been using FileMaker 5.5 on a Mac on our local network. This machine is dedicated to serving up our database here in the office. The last week or so the host keeps dropping off the network. In other words, when I launch FileMaker from one of the other machines in the office, choose open, choose hosts, there is nothing showing up in the list. If I go and quite FileMaker on the server and then re-launch it...it works fine. But within hours it disappears again. This is a frustrating one...I cant seem to find the problem. Also, as a side not, when the host computer all of a sudden stops publishing the database on the local network, it is still publishing it just fine through the Web Companion that I have set up. So this indicates that it is not a network problem. If it was, then I wouldnt be able to get to the database through both host or through web companion. Any one have any ideas of what I might need to look for, I am out of ideas. LR
July 26, 200223 yr Is the Host and Clients all set to use TCP/IP as the default protocol? Since the webcompanion is working, you know TCP/IP is working, but maybe there is a problem connecting via Appletalk?
