I want to make sure my solution handles data correctly. I want to make sure that I have the data in the right files!

No matter how well a database is designed, there are always changes we make over time to both appearance and functionality. I guess my thought process is

In your specific situation, I cannot see how splitting the file would benefit you. Seperation of data and structure is one thing, but this it just making more a complex file structure.
