October 1, 200223 yr I downloaded a trial version of FMP6.0. Afterwards, my FMP5.0 files were routed through 6.0 to open (unless I opened the 5.0 program first). I trashed the 6.0 trial version, but now, all FMP files continue to try to go through 6.0 to open (stopping at an error message "6.0 can't be found"). I have searched for that isolated file that sends all files to 6.0 and can't find it. What is the cause of this, and how do I fix it? Thanks for a suggestion. Maxwell Morlay PS I'm on a PC.
October 1, 200223 yr Hi Did you use Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel, or did you just throw away the 6 folder? Ken
October 1, 200223 yr Author I just threw it away. I'm a bit new to PC (Mac for 13 yrs.) I'll check it.
October 1, 200223 yr Yes, that is probably the problem. Unlike the ease of trash and forget that the Mac provides (with the exception of some programs that use extensions funny), Windows uses a registry that apps modify. Add/Remove programs will uninstall the program. Since Windows will open files with the newest version of a program, it is still looking for FM6.
