Extensions for FM5 files

I just upgraded to FM Server 5.5. I had to add the extension .fp5 to all my files so they could be properly served. However, buried deep in my 30+ files are now relationships, buttons and scripts that call for file names with out the .fp5 extension. Now, some of these relationships and scripts work and some do not. Is there a way, a utility that can change all of these for me or do I need to open each and correct individually.

Well,

Are you on a Windows or Mac OS?

If on Mac OS, the .fp5 extension is not needed, although after an upgrade you will need to open all the files in a copy of Filemaker Pro first, then open them in FMServer. Essentially the Creator Type needs to be correctly set in order for Filemaker Server to know which files to open.

If on Windows, you never really should have been able to open the files without the .fp5 extension at all, since that is how Windows knows what kind of file it is.

Regardless, the Filemaker Developer Tool has the ability to add/remove the .fp5 extension, as well as being able to rename files and update all references to those renamed files within an entire solution. To me this alone is worth the entire cost of Filemaker Developer.
