FileMaker Hangs! Help!

I had FMP 6 installed on this machine a few months ago. The program that was running seized up and had to be forced-quit. After that point the program would hang at the load screen just after having "Successfully Loaded TCP/IP".

I did an uninstall on FMP. I ran RegClean, thinking that it may be having a conflict with the way the program was shut down. Nothing is working.

The program will eventually load, after 2-3 minutes, but it can't run anything, because everything gives me errors.

Anyone have any idea what might be causing this issue?

This is on a PC running Windows ME.

The first problem is Windows ME :

Other then that, is your internet working? Sounds like its timing out.

If you don't need to open or share databases over TCP, just turn it off in the application preferences.

*chuckles* I know ME isn't helping things. As for the other questions...

The internet is working, yes.

Unfortunately, we do need to share databases.

Have you tried turning off TCP/IP?

I haven't tried to do that, no. Mainly because I need it on...so it wouldn't really do me any good to turn it off.

Also, it worked perfectly fine prior to the crash. It's only since that time that I've had problems.

I think what Falkaholic meant was that if you turn tcp/ip off you can verify it's not the connection causing trouble.
