Yiannis Posted March 10, 2003 Posted March 10, 2003 Can we freeze an object in a layout or a part of the screen in a layout like MS Excel? Or can you suggest me a solution? I need a left and a top part of the screen in a layout to be freeze when the horizontal and vertical scroll move the screen right and down.
falkaholic Posted March 10, 2003 Posted March 10, 2003 Put that content in a 'header' part. In layoutmode, drag a new 'part' from the toolbar and choose type 'header.' It should do exactly what you want.
Vaughan Posted March 11, 2003 Posted March 11, 2003 Just remember that the header displays data from the *first* record in the found set, the footer from the *last* record.
Yiannis Posted March 12, 2003 Author Posted March 12, 2003 You mean guys that in a layout I can put more than one "Header" part? As I still know this is not possible. Can you explain me better what do you mean? Thanks for your support.
Vaughan Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 In list view, the header and footer parts of the layout appear a static as you scroll through the records.
Yiannis Posted March 13, 2003 Author Posted March 13, 2003 Ok in list view, but my question was about parts in a layout can we make a part to be freeze? for example the header part of a layout to be freeze. Can be? Or for example I have two portals in a layout in the body part and I want to scroll down both of them together so I must use the window scroll bar and not the portals scroll up but I want the field labels of the portals to be freeze when Iam using the scroll bar. Can you suggest me a solution?
Lee Smith Posted March 13, 2003 Posted March 13, 2003 Nope. However, what I have done, is to manually (because I don't know a different way) create numbers 1, "PP" 2. "PP" for as many lines in the portal that you have, mine ended up being 100. ("PP" = paragraph). It's not easy to get the numbers in the font, the leading, and the portal lines to match up, but once you do, select it and copy and paste it for the second portal. line everything up and you should be able to compare them. Unfortunately, the headers are lost once you get below the horizon. HTH Lee Lee
