Starting Filmaker from a File

I have begun to have a problem recently in that when I attempt to start Filemaker by opening up a file from the desktop, it lauches Filemaker but not the file. I have to double click again to get the file to open. I am using 6.0v1 and OS10.2.6. Any help? Thanks
