Incorperating the Find feature into layouts

I am not the biggest fan of the "status area" in my final layout. But I like the features in which it contains.

One of the problems I am having is with the "Find" function. I have incorporated a find button into my layouts but am having difficulty trying to link it up to the appropriate action?

Right now, it will execute a find. but when it gets to the found record, there is no way to get back to "all records"? -Except to double click on "find" again & cancel the request.

I've tried running script, directly attaching "perform find" nothing seems to get me back to where I started before the find?

Hi:

How about another button that does a "Show All Records" step?

I mean, it all depends on your design and setup. You can make buttons to have them show all. Or, they can use the Show All icon in the toolbar. Or they can go Records/Show All Records.

If you are using a Perform Find to show all records, that's probably not gonna work unless the find criteria is common to all records.

Hello,

That's going to be my second option. If this fails.

Isn't there some way to script it so that I can go into find mode (do the find of a particular record), then continue the script to take me back to show all records?:???

Hi:

Sure. Just put Show All Records step at the end of your script. Although since you have done a find, they will not be sorted I don't think.

? That does exactly what I need it to do, I know I tried that before? Maybe I was thinking to much into it, cause I just didn't see it!

Thanks for pointing me back.:} laugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif
