dolphy Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 As you've probably guessed by the subject line, I'm new to Filemaker (and databases in general). I'm building a database using OS X but the database will probably reside on a Windows box & will be accessed by people running Windows as well. Is this possible? Are there specific things I'll have to do to make the database work in an environment different from the one in which it's been developed? Will I need to use software other than Filemaker Pro 6 to do this? Thanks. dolphy
Kurt Knippel Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 The only things that you have to watch out for are: font/interface differences between two OSs and any OS specific functionality. That is it. Other than that, everything is totally cross-platform.
dolphy Posted September 16, 2003 Author Posted September 16, 2003 Ahhh... Thank you, Kurt. Now I think I'll be able to sleep tonight... ;-)
HazMatt Posted September 17, 2003 Posted September 17, 2003 The FileMaker help system has a handy section on the subject. "Designing cross-platform databases."
