Format color text ALL fields in selected records?

What is the best way to format color text in ALL field of selected records? In other words, I don't want my WHOLE database to be color text, just selected records. I can format color text one field at a time, but that is slow and tedious. There must be a better way. confused.gif [color:"red"]

Hi mbeaumont,

The easiest way is to format the row to change colour and select the records at the same time by writing to a global multiline. You can isolate a group of records for export (or to omit them) or anything else a User may wish to do and it's easy to implement. I include this technique in most of my list views now.

I've attached a sample from part of a solution (see attachment at top of this post). Click anywhere on the row to select a record and then play with the buttons at the top. The 'Edit' is now disabled, the layouts and much of the data has been removed, but you get the picture.

This is one of my favourite techniques - learned from CobaltSky and his demo, Record Selector. You can learn a lot from Ray's site (and I suggest you play with all of his demos) at http://www.nightwing.com.au/filemaker/

This just may do the trick for you. smile.gif
