Windows OLE error when inserting a word doc?

Featured Replies

I am trying to insert a MS Word doc into a FMP6.04 db container field. I get

"FileMaker Pro cannot complete the operation because of an OLE (0x80004002) error." message. Any advice? I am running Windows 2000 with Office XP. Thanks DG

Help! I'm having the same problem and the above zip file didn't seem to answer the question.

I'm using Windows XP and am running FileMaker Developer 5.5. I have a container field. If I INSERT OBJECT and BROWSE to a preexisting Microsoft WORD file, then LINK it into the container field, everything is fine. But when I try the same thing and DON'T check the link box, I get the OLE (0x80004002) error. Oddly enough, when I try the same thing with Excel or Acrobat files, everything works fine. Suggestions? Thanks.
