[FP5] Insert link to PDF file

I am trying to insert a link to a PDF file in my database.

But when I check of "store only a reference to the file" and click ok, I don't get the PDF file icon, but

I get a miniature pic. of the first page of the PDF file.

Is ther any way that I can get a link to my PDF file?

I am using FM 5.5 and OSX.

I do not think that you have any choice in the matter. That is handled by the operating system and it is displaying the preview graphic.

Your only alternative would be to use a calculated field which would be displayed over the top of the actual container and would show the PDF icon or nothing (depending upon if the container field were empty or not). The PDF icon would have to be captured or created using a graphics application.
