Got entire records when searched with no input

I'm a new to this forum. Would you help me on this?

I am working on a database of research articles that has multiple search options (1 drop-down selection and 3 text input boxes for "author", "title", "keywords", etc). Problem is...when I click "Search" button without entering any input, entire records return. With no input, user is supposed to get the error page. Any idea? Thanks a lot!!

Are your selection fields global or text? If global, test that not (IsEmpty(g1) or IsEmpty(g2) or IsEmpty(g3)). Otherwise, you can test whether no criteria has been entered in Find Mode with Status(CurrentError) = 400. Set Error Capture [On] before performing your Find.

I forgot to mention that I am developing web pages that search the database. So the problem is what I got the result web page that displayed entire records when no text input was typed and no selection was made in drop down list. Thanks for you reply. I do appreciate it.

Any idea on this?

Sorry, can't help with that. Garry, Unable, or Alen may be able to help though.

I'm tagging their names because they may not notice this thread otherwise, since it's not in the online forums. wink.gif
