July 11, 200421 yr Newbies I was working on a FileMaker form a while back, and I've just started up on it again. When I go to the layout view, I don't have a background image (of the scanned form) to help me get everything lined up. Yet when I go to the Browse view, I see the graphic. I've selected "Do Not Print" from the menu, and selected view non-printing items from the menu, but I still don't see the background image. Do you guys have any suggestions? It was working before, and I've tried inserting a new graphic to a new field and choosing don't print. It shows up on top of all the other things I'm working on, and it won't go away, even after unchecking the show non-printing objects menu. I'm sure it's something simple that I'm not doing, but I'm not sure what. Another question... on this form I have multiple check boxes (Sex: M or F for example), so how would I insert the check boxes and their locations for placement on the form (using a pre-printed form)? And is there a way if I type in a certain word or number in a certain field that some other fields would fill in automatically? Thanks.
July 11, 200421 yr You will not see a graphic in Layout mode that you have put into a container field. Paste the graphic directly onto the layout and you will see it. HTH Lee

Create a Value List called Male, Custom. Its only value should be M (or whatever your field contains to designate Male). Attach this value list to one copy of your Gender field and format as checkbox. Repeat with Female. As two separate Value Lists (checkboxes), you can place them precisely where you want them. LaRetta
