I am having trouble with the protection functions of FP6. I have set a password such that the user with that password can "Create Record" yet when that user logs on, the New Record function is disabled! Can I fix that?

Hi, Adam! You might need to check all the security settings... I've always found the Access Privileges screens confusing, but you can use AP to restrict users to various layouts, fields, etc. and that might be interfering. Work from a copy of the db, and then start playing around with those settings... maybe even delete all users/passwords and then add the password back and see if that helps.

It sounds like you have dsiabled the menus.

As well as allowing or denying users to create records, there is a separate option to disable menus. If menus are disabled you (the developer) needs to provide buttons on the layout to perform the necessary commands.
