You most likely have a two-digit year in your Excel Dates. Two options: correct the Excel dates or add 100 years after you do the import.

Yeah.. FM has a 2-digit year guessing system but it does not apply to imported data; only data directly typed in (I was bummed when I read that). Go w/4 digit years whenever possible.
