I have a database with one File, Customers, that links to another file, Products. In the Customer file there is an invoice layout that looks up the prices based on the Product name.

Some of our model numbers are a little complicated and sometimes it is easier to go to the product file, copy the name of the product, then return to the customer file and paste it into the invoice. The problem is that when we paste D 830pdd.3 we get 10023556. and I have no idea what that is (maybe a record number) Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

Are both fields the same type? This looks similar to a date-to-text issue.
