Error Upgrading Filemaker 5.5v1 to 5.5v2

Hello,

I'm trying to upgrade Filemaker Pro 5.5v1 to 5.5v2 using the updater from the FM web site. Once it starts installing, I get an error:

Internal Error 2755. 1612, C:WINDOWSInstaller1a832ad.msi

Any ideas? I'm using Windows XP Professional SP2.

I have had the same error on multiple machines with different versions of Windows. I doubt that that could be fixed, except by FMI and they don't provide any support for FM v5.5. I think your only option is to upgrade to V7 or go to version 6, which I'm sure is pretty cheap on e-Bay.

It's a known problem with that updater. What happens is that the installer somehow deletes the MSI file before the files have been run.

Use Winzip to open the updater and extract the files yourself to a some folder. Then run the setup.exe that's among the extracted files.
