Newbies Lang Posted April 28, 2005 Newbies Posted April 28, 2005 Ok, everything is working just fine. However I want to disable the enter button in my find script so errors don't arise. Is there a way that I can disable the enter button?
BrentHedden Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Heh, Heh - yea - physically remove it from your keyboard. If that doesn't work, take it apart and use a soldering gun to disable it. Seriously now - I'm not aware of how to disable it. I'm confused about what you want to do exactly. Are you wanting to prevent certain fields from being entered into when in Find mode? If so, just make the field non-enterable in the field format. I know one cool thing about FM7 that is new is that you can define a layout field to be enterable in browse mode, but not Find mode and vice-versa. This feature is not available in previous versions.
Newbies Lang Posted April 28, 2005 Author Newbies Posted April 28, 2005 Is there a setfocus command? Or a command that makes it so when you press enter it only has an effect on one button?
QuinTech Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 More information, please. disable the enter button in my find script so errors don't arise What errors, exactly, are you concerned about? when you press enter it only has an effect on one button Sounds to me like you are trying to keyboard-enable FMP, that is, tie the enter key to one particular button, such as the button "in focus" (which, unfortunately, does not exist in FMP5, nor in FMP7, for that matter). If you tell us exactly what the enter button does that you don't like, we may offer some workarounds. J
Henry Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Maybe you can find a plugin to change the enter key as tab key. (FM7 can done it without plugin) If the enter key function as tab key in find mode, then you can disable the enter function.
