Sergeant Ron Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 when I open FM in either version 7 or 8 I get a pop up that says FileMaker sharing is off, etc... Thus forcing me to turn sharing on. Now I know that if I turn it on I can specify "no users", hence no sharing. My question is, does this message always come up by default or can it be disabled somehow, or do we just have to share the files and select no users if we dont want to share.
Newbies LarryC Posted September 10, 2005 Newbies Posted September 10, 2005 Hey - one I can answer. Go to FileMaker > FileMaker Sharing > FileMaker Network and turn on Network Sharing.
Newbies LarryC Posted September 10, 2005 Newbies Posted September 10, 2005 Oh - I should have added check All Users
Sergeant Ron Posted September 10, 2005 Author Posted September 10, 2005 Thats what I thought. I was just wondering if there was a way to keep the message from coming up by default. I have a network envrionment and use external server to authenticate for user privleges. each user must log on then I have to go and change the network sharing option on each desktop logon the 1st time every user logs on. "Pain in the A$$". But thanks for the responses.
