Siri Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Hi, I'm new to the forums. I would like to use filemaker for our restaurant inventory. Does anyone know of any open solutions that I could use as an example of what is possible? Thanks, Siri
aaa Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 What problem? I dont know any open solution. But i think it is not difficult. I think you must have the Inventory table where you will have the list of your all inventory, and Operations table where you will have all operations for inventories. This is in few words. If you want tell details about your goal.
Siri Posted November 21, 2005 Author Posted November 21, 2005 The restaurant inventory is something like a factory situation. The product comes in, it is made into food prep recipes, then those are made into plates or portions for the customers. I have vastly simplified this process if you start to think about cups of sugar and produce that varies in size and goes bad you start to envision many tables keeping things like theoretical amounts vs. actual etc. We have an inventory system but it is originally ported from Dos. Everything works in batches so you have to enter reems of information before closing a 'batch' to get any reports etc. We would like to switch to something live like an inventory type MYOB product. These systems are expensive ($1000 at least) and still are unable to fufull our needs. Any suggestions of a solution would be appreciated. Siri
aaa Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Can you attach trial version of MYOB? I tried it download, and get that it "Not found".
Lee Smith Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 There is a 2 file and 1.5 MB limits for attachments.
