Ted S Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 noonoo, Welcom to the Forums. We will be happy to help out where we can. We really need to deal with specifics here on the Forumn. Your question is akin to asking "I just purchased a load of lumber, can somebody tell me how to build a house?" Ask specific questions and you will get answers. Entire books are written to answer the question that you are asking.
Newbies noonoo Posted January 26, 2006 Author Newbies Posted January 26, 2006 Ok... I am having real problems getting passed the templates of setting up Asset Managment Do i sound a bit dim ? im not really . I am only trying to set up a database for contact details. Is it really that hard. :
Ted S Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 No, FileMaker is probably the easiest database program to develop in the world. The average Joe can develop some pretty sophisticated databases with FileMaker. But like anything else, it can be difficult to understand in the beginning. My suggestion would be to pick up a book or training video on Filemaker. Make sure it's a training book rather than a reference book. Get the basics down and then I think you will be happy and satisfied with your FM purchase. I think there MAY be a tutorial included with the FileMaker program. Give that a whirl too--assuming its there.
Newbies noonoo Posted January 26, 2006 Author Newbies Posted January 26, 2006 : Thanks Ted. I will look into getting a training book. No cd came with fm 8.
Lee Smith Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 : [color:blue]-snip-No cd came with fm 8. Huh. Is this the Demo you download or something? Check out the resources topic area [color:blue] Forum Index » FileMaker Marketplace » FileMaker Resources for some excellent recommendations. HTH Lee
