June 5, 200718 yr Hi there, I'm looking for any tips out there to secure a run-time database I've created in the old fmp 5.5 version of FileMaker. I have used the standard password protection but want to know if there is anything else I should/could consider? eg. passwords that expire or perhaps have the program look for a certain file to verify? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
June 6, 200718 yr um... the best way to protect your runtimes (structure) is to remove access to fields/scripts. However these demos would be unmodifiable, so make sure you have a way to export your data. With any FMP 5 program anyone w/ a credit card and google can peek under the hood unless you use the aforementioned technique. What are you trying to protect against? Piracy? or Intellectual property?
