June 14, 200718 yr We are installing 50 client versions of Filemaker 8.5. We have changed the personalization file to prevent users creating databases as any solution will be hosted by Filemaker Server. We do not want the users opening any databases locally either. So I thought we should remove the English Extras folder which contain the tutorial and sample files. Is there anything else I should (or should not remove) when installing Client versions?
June 14, 200718 yr You'll probably want to change the prefs on each workstation to skip the Templates on opening the application. And you should bump the client cache settings to something like 12MB. For OS X clients, also make sure text smoothing in the Appearance preference pane is set to turn off for font sizes "8 or smaller", or whatever the smallest font size is in your solution's interface.
