SoCalMacDude Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 (edited) I am integrating several FM6 databases into one FM8 database, using FM8 Advanced. Suddenly when I open it, the layout names of the 4 last layouts show in the layout menu, but if you select them or navigate to them, the name becomes blank, and you cannot create a name or uncheck it in the Layout Order menu. Also, nothing happens when choosing Layout Setup on those layouts - no dialog box opens, etc. Those layouts have no parts, will not accept parts, and can't be deleted. Latest backup is several days of layout work back. Any suggestions??? Edited July 30, 2007 by Guest Additional detail.
Vaughan Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 It sounds like data corruption. Run through the standard procedure: 1) start looking for backups. 2) try saving a compressed copy of the file, it often fixes the problem. 3) run the files through the recover command, but be aware that the job of Recover is to get data out of the files, at the expense of structure such as layouts and scripts. The data should then be imported into a known-good backup. 4) revert to a backup copy.
