FMP Unlimited can be used as a web server. FMP Server is a database server and will not function as a web server.

However FMP Unlimited (actually the WebCompanion plugin) is only a basic web server and is not very configurable or robust. Something like Apache or WebStar would provide a better web server application.

You still use FMP Unlimited to serve the FMP data to the web.

Be aware that if you try to run web companion and another web server (apache or whatever) there will be a port conflict because both will try to use port 80.

To solve this problem Web Companion can be configured to use another port, but if you change the port for Web Companion the urls that address the FMP databases must be changed to include the new port number.

For instance, if the web Conmpanion is changed to 591, the url must now be: http://www.blah.com:591/here/there/everywhere.html

Not hard just something to be aware of.
