converting old claris filmaker files to fm5pro -howto???

trying to open an old file from claris fm for mac in latest version fm5 for windows. The old macfiles hav no file-extension.

I tried to name them *.fm but that didn't work.

What version of Claris FileMaker are you using? It sounds like it must be version 2. If you have version 3 or 4, convert it to that first, and then you can convert it to 5.

If you don't have version 3 or 4, and you don't have many file, send them to me. I'd be happy to convert them for you if you.

thanks for the offer ...

the files (3 of them) are created in the first ever version (0)of claris filemaker for mac.

now, i have filemaker 5pro for windows and i can't figure out how to open them.

If you have Excel, you might be able to open the old file from within Excel, then save it as a spreadsheet and import the info into FMP.
