Newbies Lois Fletcher Posted November 9, 2000 Newbies Posted November 9, 2000 We're novices with File Maker. When creating a production schedule with time lines, is it possible to graphically show the time lines - like a gant chart - or even calendar pages? Some people don't like looking at information and would rather see the data graphically.
darrenN Posted November 9, 2000 Posted November 9, 2000 Sorry I was being to hasty. I've sorted the problem (which didn't really exist.) Using format date. You will have to excuse me but I'm new to FM.
Chuck Posted November 9, 2000 Posted November 9, 2000 FileMaker doesn't do this by itself, but there is a plug-in that will help you. Check out http://www.wmotion.com. They have a plug-in called
danjacoby Posted November 10, 2000 Posted November 10, 2000 Actually, there IS a way to fake a bar chart, and even a Gantt chart, in FMP. Create a calc field: Left("| || || || || || || || || || || || || || || || || || ||", DataField)) You can include as many vertical lines as you want, up to the FMP limit of 255. You may also want to overlap two or more copies of this field, one pixel apart, in order to get a solid line. But it works. For a Gantt chart, you'll need two or more different calc fields overlapped and transparent. The details are a bit long, but you can probably figure it out. Dan
