Newbies Marco Fu Posted November 10, 2000 Newbies Posted November 10, 2000 Is it true that the FileMaker Pro 5 Server is not a DBMS (Database Management System) product? If it is true can anyone please give me more detail on how it function and do we need it for web publishing? Thanks:-)
Chuck Posted November 10, 2000 Posted November 10, 2000 FileMaker IS a database management system. It comes out of the package with the ability to serve databases on the web. Chuck

Also FMP Server cannot server databases to the web. You need either Filemaker client or better yet Filemaker Unlimited. Filemaker as a whole (client/server/unlimited/web companion) are a true RDBMS in every sense of the terms. ------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Kurt Knippel Consultant Database Resources mailto:[email protected] http://www.database-resources.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
