November 21, 200025 yr I have a copy of FMPro standard on Nt Server 4.0 sP6 and a client W98 with another copy of FMPro. When I open it on the Nt Server in multi user mode, I can't find it as a host from the W98 Client. When I do it the other way around, and open it first on the W98 machine, it works fine, I can open it as a guest from the Nt Server. Am I missing something? I would like some suggestions. TCP/IP protocol Win 98 SE Nt SERver 4.0 SP6 All other network things work fine. I have no firewalls or anything turned on. The W98 client just can't see the host, even in the host box when you go File->Open and click on hosts. Is this a NT Server thing or just MY NT Server? Any ideas?
November 28, 200025 yr Newbies I have exactly the same problem on a server with two network cards. The problem is (momentarily) solved when I desactivate one. Then, the Win98 client finds the host. Do you have two network cards? Hope this help... quote: Originally posted by shierkev: I have a copy of FMPro standard on Nt Server 4.0 sP6 and a client W98 with another copy of FMPro. November 29, 200025 yr Author Yes, I have 2 NIC's I haven't tried disabling one of them because it is critical to the operation. Perhaps you're right.

Yesterday our ServerMaster sorted out 2 cards with FM server on one machine... Email me if you need help. I will pass request to him. He can do the settings remotely via Internet.
November 30, 200025 yr Your Win98 client have a TCP/IP address like a server?? i.e. Server(191.161.1.1) client (191.161.1.10)
December 5, 200025 yr Have you checked your event Viewer to see if FMPro is reporting any issues?, I had a similiar problem ( 2x DEC netcards) cards)and I found it to be an issue when I had IPX and IP both installed to support multi protocols. Removed IPX and everything is fine. Also check your interupt settings
