Hi,

I'm an FM newbie and have in mind the solution but no idea how to achieve....

I'll describe what I'm after and if you're of a mind please respond. Opologies if this is all too simple ......

File A : People file / FirstName, Surname, FullName, PersonDodID

File B : Time sheet / EntryDate, EntryTime, PersonDocID

The issue I have is that there are going to be many many people listed in file A and I would like an elegant method for selecting a person.

I could use popup fields, but feel they are only good for 25 or less selections. In my mind I'd like a feature where users could enter the first few letters of the firstname or surname which would then restrict the popup field to the relevant names.

Or is there a better method ?

All responses greatly received. However here's a warning. To many good responses will tempt me to ask more.......

Easy peasy.......

A general method is to:

Enter Find Mode

type in name or part

Perform Find

if none found show error message

if one found go to form view

if multiple found go to list view and allow manual selection to pick and go to form view
