Help a beginner please?

Featured Replies

I represent a photographic agency. We have about 100,000+ images, jpegs (200-500K) which we need to put on a database.

1. Is Filemaker pro suitable? I imagine each image would have 4/5 fields associated with it, i.e. Name,Location, Description, Category etc. Would we be able to search through the images using these fields?

2. When we search for an image, i.e. dog, can all results be previewed as thumbs on a page. i.e page 1 of 5 , 10 images/thumbs per page? Clicking a thumb takes you to the actual image file?

Any and all help appreciated

Thanx in advance.

I think FM can accomplish what you wish, but there are many full featured databases specifically design to catalog images. In such a specific application, I would probably look at one of these products. -bd
