I have a database in fp7 that I need to give to an fp5 user. There seems to be no way to export or save as a different version. How can I do this?

You are correct, FileMaker is not backwards compatible. You will have to recreate the files in v5.

If you dont have them, then obviously you would have to create them to import the data into.

If you don't have them, then dropping your exported files on the application icon will create them AND import the data at the same time. The XML (FMPXMLRESULT) format would work best for this. Of course, calculations, scripts, layouts, relationships, etc. would still have to be recreated manually.
