GregFM Posted June 14, 2001 Posted June 14, 2001 I am using my own multifile solution on a LAN with one server and two clients, currently being hosted by FM5 (not the FM server). Is there a max number of files that FM5 can manage on one computer? Is there a maximum number of files and maximum number of users FM5 can host in a network? Thanks.
LiveOak Posted June 14, 2001 Posted June 14, 2001 When using FM server, the answer is easy, 125 files on one server. If there is a limit for the network, it's really large (>500 files). For a normal copy of FM, the answer is more complicated. It is a combination of the number of files and number of users. Generally, it is much more sensitive to an increase in files than an increase in users. For instance, I've had 8 files and 20 users. Five more users is ok, but 5 more files is too much. I think the maximum is 50 files for a client copy of FM, but this also depends upon the number of users. -bd
