MtnBiker Posted August 8, 2001 Posted August 8, 2001 I remember one time reading that there is a problem running FM Pro 5 on NT Workstation 4.0 running service pack 3. It would corrupt the OS. Is this true? I have 40 NT Workstation 4.0 machines with this setup that require service pack 3 in order to co-exist with the third party software they are running. Upgrading service packs is not an option. I need to make sure before I go installing FM.
DykstrL Posted August 9, 2001 Posted August 9, 2001 For FileMaker Pro 5.0v3, there should not be any problems with NT4.0 SP3. There are no shared DLL's for a standard FileMaker Pro install - not even between different versions of FileMaker on the same machine. I have version 2.1, 3.0, 4.1, 5.0 and 5.5 on the same box and no problems. FileMaker Server (on Windows) seems to be most happy with NT 4.0 with Servie Pack 6. My recommendation is - Install away!
