I've been looking over Scriptology on their web sight and would like to hear from anyone using it. At $399.00 I would like a litte feedback before making a purchase. I'm no expert by any means, but I've been around FileMaker long enough to get around. I want something to get me to the next level that is done in simple, easy to understand language. With templates to show the form and style of good file building and good information on both scripting and calculations

Is Scriptology for me?

Thanks for your help,

HJ

I've used the Sciptology book for the last 18 months and have found it invaluable. Most of the users on this site either already use it or should use it. That said, I can't tell you whether the whole package is worth the money. The book and CDROM (loads of examples) is only around $75, which is fairly minimal. Even though it covers up thru Version 4, it's perfectly usable for the current version.

Why don't you start with the book, and get the other pieces as you need them since I believe they are all separately available.

I agree with Steve.

The Scriptology book is the best Filemaker learning tool available, and I've seen them all. Using Filemaker Pro 5 by Coulombre and Price is a good book also. I have the Developer's toolkit and find it useful. It has lots of cool video based techniques and some good file templates. The price is a bit steep for what you get though. I can’t recommend the Scriptology book enough the CD that comes with it is worth the price alone. It has the best set of example techniques that I have ever seen. I find myself referring to it often.

Good Luck
