Worth upgrading to FMS 12 Advanced?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Currently using FM Server 9.

We are planning on using IWP extensively and was wondering if it's worth going to FM Server 12 Advanced, vs purchasing something cheaper like FM 11 Server Advanced or any other earlier versions.

The idea would be to re-design the current database to be IWP friendly for internal and external use.

We are not very familiar with the different versions of Server Advanced and their respective IWP differences and am hoping someone here can shed some light.

thank you,

John

You cannot buy earlier versions. Also be aware that machine and OS specs have changed since fms9.

Not much difference between IWP in FMS 12 and 11. Better options for stability in FMS12 though, support for 64bit and much higher cache, improved backups, etc.

Although you cznnot buy ptevious vetsions you can get a license downgrade after buy. But unlilkely for v9. Look at tne subscription options.

I was thinking of getting FMS 11 (You can still find old/used versions).

If we stick with pre-12 we can keep current clients and not have to upgrade them as well. But, strong support for IWP is necessary. Is IWP in 11 stable?
