Problem with special character

and when you change a password with special characters like ñ, is successfully changed the FMP, but when logging API with PHP, I can not, apparently the password is incorrect, my scripts are in UTF-8, as q the FMSERVER. I need urgent help, thanks!

Are you saying that you can log in with the password "niño"  to the database directly, but cannot log in from the php page?
